Tea à Tempo – Sue Newman and Friends – December 04, 2019 @ 2:10 PM

Wednesday, December 4, 2019 - 2:00pm

Well, it’s almost Christmas again and Music Makers is inviting you to join Sue Newman and Friends at Tea à Tempo on December 04, 2019 at All Saints by-the-Sea Anglican Church in downtown Ganges.
With original songs and a little dancing, plus a special excerpt from the island version of “Christmas with Scrooge”, your afternoon will be filled with Sue’s love of music and theatre!
Sue has spent most of her life honing in on that love, largely on Salt Spring, performing in many ways! She sings in a jazz group; is an actor; is part of a dance band; teaches dance and musical theatre; is part of a rock, blues and Motown duo; sings in a carolling group; choreographs and directs shows; writes songs; and has danced for years with Lolla Devindisch at Music and Munch and Tea à Tempo, but also together in Scrooge!
Scrooge, another love, the Dickens story of Ebenezer, the miser, who is redeemed by the world only when he finally sees through the visitations of ghostly apparitions! Sue’s parents, Ray and Virginia Newman, took the little book and adapted it back in 1971, with a beautiful score, and it’s been playing on Salt Spring Island over the years since then! With Karen Arney at the piano, Sue and Friends will give you a little flavour of this lovely show that is coming to Fulford Hall this holiday season.
Concert begins at 2:10 pm. Donations provide the honoraria for performers and support the production of the Tea à Tempo series.
Tea and Treats, for $3.00, are provided by the Anglican Caterers immediately following the concert.
So bring a friend or visitor to the Island, be entertained with some singing and dancing, and then have a delicious treat afterwards.
Food, friends, and music! What more could you ask for? Hope to see you there.
