Drop-in suggested donation of $10
Islanders Working Against Violence (IWAV) is a non-profit society providing services throughout the Southern Gulf Islands to women and their children affected by poverty, violence and abuse.
Let’s gather to settle into stillness with the intention of gratitude for all that we have.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style where the postures are held for longer periods to create moderate stress on the connective tissues of the body to improve circulation, joint health and flexibility. In this class, we use bolsters and blocks for support to encourage a deep physical surrender. This slow approach is inherently meditative and encourages quiet self-reflection, self-compassion and relaxation. We will begin the session with centering breath work and meditation to set your intention for the class. Working with a sequence of Yin yoga poses that open the body and the energy channels within we will move towards stillness and guided meditation for deep relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.
This class is a community event in association with the Victoria Yoga Conference held at UVIC February 14th – 16th 2020.
All those in attendance will have the opportunity to enter into a draw for a Full Access Weekend Pass to the conference valued at $295.
