Tea à Tempo – Caroni Young, Jim Shultz & Ian Van Wyck – Parisian Jazz Cafe – June 19, 2019 @ 2:10PM

Wednesday, June 19, 2019 - 2:00pm

On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, Music Makers are very happy to welcome Salt Spring Jazz Vocalist Caroni Young to the Tea à Tempo stage once again.
Presenting a programme entitled Parisian Jazz Cafe, Caroni Young is delighted to share the stage with guitarist Jim Shultz and bassist Ian Van Wyck. The trio will present a series of songs about Paris in the style of great French musicians such as Edith Piaf and Michel LeGrand. The audience can look forward to some favourite standards, such as April in Paris and La Vie En Rose, but also some newer compositions such as La Belle Dame Sans Regrets which was composed by Sting.
Currently a teacher with the Gulf Islands School District, Caroni is also the Artistic Director of Viva Chorale! and the Makana Youth Choir. Next year, she will be attending UBC as a graduate student in Choral Conducting. Caroni earned a degree in Vocal Jazz at Capilano University and loves to sing whenever possible. She performs regularly with the Swing Shift Big Band and is also a member of the a cappella choir Tongue n’ Cheek.
Jim Shultz and Ian Van Wyck, both well known and very busy Salt Spring musicians, have played at several past Tea à Tempo concerts with many different groups.
Concert begins at 2:10 pm. All donations are directed towards the honoraria of musicians and the running of the series.
Tea and Treats, for $3.00, are provided by the Anglican Caterers immediately following the concert.
So bring a friend or visitor to the Island, be entertained at a Parisian Jazz Cafe, and then have a delicious treat afterwards.
Food, friends, and music! What more could you ask for? Hope to see you there.
