Rooted in exploration and heritage, Kutatás (Koo-Tah-Tash)—Hungarian for "research" or "quest"—perfectly captures the spirit of this boutique winery. Founded in 2015 by winemakers Mira Tusz and Daniel Dragert, Kutatás Wines reflects their shared Hungarian background and deep passion for the craft, shaped by years of experience on Vancouver Island and in New Zealand.

Located on scenic Salt Spring Island, the winery features 8 acres of estate vines, with an additional 5 acres at the Patricia Bay vineyard in North Saanich. Both sites are dry-farmed to enhance fruit concentration and reflect their distinct terroirs—Salt Spring's deep sandy soils and Patricia Bay's rich clay, naturally fed by a limestone water table.
