Towards a gentler visitor season

The Southern Gulf Islands Tourism Partnership (SGITP) is the community destination management organization (CDMO) for the Southern Gulf Islands region, which includes Galiano, Mayne, Pender, Saturna, and Salt Spring Islands.

As a non-profit society, we work diligently to encourage more seasonally balanced visitation that supports the economic activity and diversity of our island businesses. At the same time, we seek visitation that leaves a net positive benefit on our communities, both socially and environmentally, to support our residents’ quality of life and our islands’ values.

Engaging with all levels of government, local chambers of commerce, conservancies, arts organizations, independent businesses, and other non-profits, we advocate for and support regenerative destination management for our region.

Who are we?

Southern Gulf Islands, Salt Spring Island, Galiano island, Mayne Island, Pender, Saturna,

We are an independent, non-profit society managed by an elected tourism sector board of directors, and supported by professional tourism management staff. We are guided by an approved BC Societies Act constitution and bylaws and a Destination BC approved business plan and budget.
