Incorporated in 1993, Pender Islands Conservancy Association is the oldest environmental group on Pender. The Conservancy was created when community members saw an urgent need for an organization that would champion land protection on the islands and rallied community support to create the registered charity. The Pender Islands Conservancy Association is a registered land trust and a member of the Land Trust Alliance of BC.
The Pender Islands Conservancy Association’s store offers a selection of locally themed items, with proceeds supporting the Conservancy’s work to protect and restore the natural environment of North and South Pender Islands. Every purchase helps fund habitat restoration, land protection, and education programs that care for the islands’ forests, shorelines, and wildlife.
