Donna DuBock paints from a shoreline studio at Village Bay on Mayne Island, where the wildlife outside her window tends to end up on the canvas. Her abstract mixed media work on canvas and paper draws on a life spent between the UK, Italy, Spain, Australia, and now the Gulf Islands — always with enough realism to anchor the abstraction in something recognizable: a heron, a hillside, a stretch of grey-green water.
