Marcia DeVicque Glassworks

Cozy Season

Listing Information

Inspired by the rhythm of the seasons and a deep connection to the natural world, Marcia DeVicque’s glasswork reflects a lifelong love of light, colour, and form. Largely self-taught, Marcia has spent more than 30 years exploring glass in its many expressions, ultimately focusing on kiln-fired techniques including fusing, slumping, and casting. Her work draws constant inspiration from the West Coast landscape, shaped by the rock forms, water, and forests of the Gulf Islands.

For over two decades, Marcia has worked almost exclusively with warm glass, with select pieces further refined using fired 24-karat gold or platinum. Each kiln opening brings a moment of anticipation and discovery. In 2004, she established her studio and gallery on Galiano Island, set within the rainforest, where her work continues to evolve. Collaborations with metal and wood workers create a natural harmony between glass, iron, and wood. Through her open studio gallery, Marcia welcomes visitors from around the world, sharing both her work and the ongoing conversation between art, place, and people.
